And it is off!

We just bagged and tagged the robot, and are ready for some much needed rest before we start thinking about what we can do to improve the robot.

Late Night Build

Tonight the build team will spend the final hours of the build season working to get the robot ready for competition. While there is still a lot to do, we are confident that the robot will be ready by midnight when we have to bag and tag the robot. We've done what we've needed to do, and we set our goals high and our ready to compete. Team 1743 hopes to have a great regional at Pittsburgh, see you there.

The website has been given a complete makeover for the 2010 season!

We've tried to make the site as simple to navigate and look at as possible in order to ensure that your stay is a pleasant one.

Updates to the website and from the team will show up here, on the main page. Be sure to check out our "about" page for information on Team 1743 and on the FIRST organization. Also, you can use the search bar above to search this website as well as the FIRST website (www.usfirst.org). The search results are pulled directly from Google. This means that for the few first weeks, search results for Team1743.org may be incorrect due to its catalog of our older pages. Please be patient as these update.

More Snow!

Another hindrance to the robotics team has been the cancellation of school for today and tomorrow. As of now, Team 1743 needs all the build time it can get and the Pittsburgh weather is not cooperating.

Electrical/Programing Update

Team 1743 has decided to program our robot using Java this year.  We recently exchanged our broken Crio with a refurbished one, allowing for us to legally compete this year. There is also still hope that we will be able to find/use a camera on our robot, which we feel will give us an advantage in autonomous mode and the teleoperated period. We have also been trying to help some of the teams that are not as far along as us in terms of programing by staying active on the Steel City Robotics Alliance forums. On the down side, the team was not able to work today, since most of Pittsburgh has been snowed in.

The New Season!

Team 1743 is back at work for the 2010 FIRST Robotics season!

The Build Team is challenging themselves with constructing a robot that meets the requirement for this year's game, Breakaway!

The team is currently working on the shooting device that will allow the robot to actually score.
